I watched this last week and was going to write my own thoughts on the film but this review pretty much captured my feelings. Too rushed (maybe a proper K-drama would’ve been better) and the characters were changed so much that I didn’t see the dichotomy in Sumire’s public vs. private personas (a huge element in the manga/J-drama, as she is afraid of letting anyone see the “real” her) and therefore I didn’t see why she would need Momo in the first place.  Not to mention, while I actually am a fan of Jang Geun Suk those musical scenes felt rather awkwardly shoehorned in for the sole purpose of giving him a chance to sing (and maybe sell the OST?).  I still like his rendition of “Mandy,” though.

In short, I really wanted to love this movie and I’m positive I would have if I wasn’t familiar with the manga and J-drama (both of which I love).  It maybe unfair to compare it to those but I can’t help it.

P.S. I should note that the fan-translated subs I used were at least vastly superior to what your screencap shows.
