Starmine Sister

Since you don’t have an ask box I’m just throwing it straight out here :P

All your talk about Queen In-Hyun’s Man has got me wanting to give it a go. I was hoping you’d give The Moon That Embraces the Sun a go too because it’s beautiful! You said you don’t normally watch historical dramas and I’m…

I can’t shut up (i.e. my responses always are so long they get cut off) so I’ll just reblog and answer. Also, I’m so new to tumblr that I don’t know how to have an ask box, but I’ll look into it.

Unfortunately I won’t be around Sunday evening but if I was, I’d sooo be there. The King and the Clown is a movie I’ve meant to watch for quite literally years. I’ve been. let’s say, interested in homoeroticism* in film for longer than I’ve been interested in Korean media specifically. SPOILER in a round-about way: I’m also frankly scared to watch it because I’ve been a bit spoiled as to the ending. I wish I had better tolerance for these endings but… (omg real life confession here) I’m so prone to depression that I try to avoid super-sad stories in my entertainment. Good, effective tragedies have me in a funk/crying jag for a good couple of days at least, which really interferes with unfortunate day-to-day necessities. What can I say, I’m a total wimp. It’s hard to knowingly put myself through that, which is why I regard most saeguk dramas with some suspicion & hesitation, to say the least.

Both Chuno (Oh Ji Ho, yum) and MTETS are on my “To Watch When You Get the Balls” list because I just know I’ll be so depressed afterwards.

*Yes, I have no shame, I’m probably the biggest BL fangirl you or anyone else who reads this knows (…or not, as we are a strange and elusive bunch and we can surprise you with our secret identities).

I finally found a torrent for the 2000 Korean film La Belle (yes, I did look to buy a legit R1 DVD first with no luck). Really, it was just to see Oh Ji Ho in all his 24-year-old glory and boy does it not disappoint in that respect (and though I know one can post some pretty saucy stuff on tumblr, the above were all that I felt comfortable putting out there— some other screenshots are almost indistinguishable from pornography [except that the actor is hot and there’s no full frontal nudity] ).

Unfortunately the version I have is unsubbed. So all I can say is… While it’s not heavy on the dialogue, and I’m not really sure what’s going on (especially at the end), it is very “arty,” which is code for, “Oh Ji Ho has a great ass.” What more can I ask for though?

I acquired the 2003 Korean movie Silver Knife (Eunjangdo) a long time ago, mainly on the virtue of this single promo pic (admit it, you would’ve downloaded it too) and never watched it. Years later, I attain a profound appreciation of everything Oh Ji Ho and then realize it was him all along. It’s like the Circle of Life, only with fangirling.

Anyway, the movie itself is nothing remarkable. A few funny scenes but mostly a run-of-the-mill sex comedy. I don’t think it was worth watching the whole movie just to get to the ~3 minute Oh Ji Ho naked plate-dance bit but rest assured I watched that scene at least 5 times just to be sure (you can watch whole “3 sexy guys” dance scene here, at the 10:40 mark— OJH is on the far right). One thing I can say for sure is that the man is very comfortable with his body. Thank God.

Though I’ve yet to watch You Are My Pet with English subs, the impression I get is that Jang Geun Suk (in the Korean film) plays a much more aggressive/sexy Momo, whereas MatsuJun (in the Japanese drama) is a cute/sweet/sexy Momo.  And wow, this gif set has done nothing to dissuade that thought…

You’re My Pet ^_^

Sukkie Oppa

Exactly my first thought upon seeing that poster.  Nice likeness of the cover of the first volume of the manga. I love the J-drama and the manga and I’ve been very much looking forward to this film.  The question is, do I wait for an English softsub to come out somewhere or just go for it?

Antique : 서양골동양과자점 앤티크

This movie still gives me adorable giggly, mushy feelings. Also Koreans speaking French. Yes please.

THIS MOVIE

is one of my favourite movies EVER.

Why hasn’t someone licensed this film for Region 1 DVD release already?! I could’ve bought it 10 times over by now.
